Stomach Butterflies:
Reverse metamorphosis Has transpired In my stomach Butterflies took refuge Within me For over a week, & Subsisted on the broken down Nutrients from my stress-eating Somehow, They cocooned themselves. I know, Because today I feel Their caterpillar-remnants Inch inside my innards Their footsteps are mere echoes Of the gust their wings Used to cause. My heart quivers In the wake of being left alone This sentient bird cage Squiggles itself Over the pique sensation Of becoming bird-less
